One of the great attributes of the Australian people is their desire to grow and advance in their daily lives, which is why the government has set its sights on public transport, the train tracks, For this reason, one of the great projects at the national level has been given, which is the Level Crossing Removal Project or LXRP. to give their community that tranquility and security they deserve.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The idea of the project is remove the dangerous and congested level crossings at McGregor Road, Main Street, and Racecourse Road, Pakenham by building a sophisticated rail bridge over the roads and building new stations with the best technology at Pakenham and East Pakenham.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The level crossings at Main Street,\u00a0McGregor Road\u00a0and Rececourse Road\u00a0in Pakenham are 3 of 22 overcrowd crossings being removed along the Pakenham line.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The level crossings have been fast-tracked for removal, with the three boom gates gone for good in 2023\/2024, 12 months earlier than originally planned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The crossings will be removed by building a rail bridge over the roads, creating new community open space, designs that take into account the citizens who live around.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 2.5km rail bridge design with a new premium Pakenham Station will improve safety, reduce road congestion and allow more trains, more often. The new Pakenham Station will provide modern facilities, more services and improved security.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We\u2019re also extending the metropolitan rail line 2km and building a new East Pakenham Station.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new East Pakenham Station ensures the right infrastructure and services are in place to meet the needs of this fast-growing community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project has been fast-tracked and early works have begun with construction to ramp up from early 2022, with the crossings gone for good in 2023\/24.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
