They&nbsp; &nbsp;will be working around the clock from Tuesday, April 26 to Saturday, May 14 to remove the boom gates on Glenroy Road and prepare the new station ready for passengers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Passengers will be able to board trains at the new Glenroy Station beginning at 9 p.m. on Friday, May 6, with access from Hartington Street only until mid-September.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Glenroy Road will reopen on May 14th. While the road is blocked, pedestrian access across the level crossing will be continuously monitored.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The site crew has put half of the 86 solar panels on the new station&#8217;s roof in recent weeks, with the remainder set to be completed in April. This remarkable system, which has been placed in the main station canopy, will be a 38kW system that will yield 150,557 MJ (megajoules) per year or 41,826 kWh (kilowatt hours) per year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.dcsignallingsystems.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/Glenroy-solar-panels.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-300\" width=\"1199\" height=\"806\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.dcsignallingsystems.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/Glenroy-solar-panels.jpg 992w, https:\/\/blog.dcsignallingsystems.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/Glenroy-solar-panels-300x202.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blog.dcsignallingsystems.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/Glenroy-solar-panels-768x516.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1199px) 100vw, 1199px\" \/><figcaption>Victoria Big Build<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Glenroy Station will become a more resilient facility, able to endure future power outages and other weather impacts, by installing solar panels (combined with a generator).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With the solar panel system installed, the station will be less reliant on grid electricity and will offset 41,000kg (Carbon dioxide equivalent) of glasshouse gas emissions per year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The following improvements will be implemented during the future works:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dowd Place will be closed until mid-September while construction of the new parking lot is underway, demolish the existing rail infrastructure, and finish the western station entrance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Glenroy Road will be blocked from April 26 to May 14 while the old boom gates and rails are removed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From Tuesday, April 26 to Friday, May 6, buses will replace trains on the Craigieburn Line, also in the same time, a tiny part of Hartington Street near the junction of Glenroy Road will be completely blocked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Station Road will be blocked between Glenroy Road and Meaker Avenue from April 26 to May 13.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Something to keep in mind is that local access for businesses and residential buildings will be preserved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This significant advancement in the railway also resulted in advancements in the roadways, as the New Hartington Street roundabout was built.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.dcsignallingsystems.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/Roundabout-glenroy-station-LCRP-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-295\" width=\"1200\" height=\"800\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.dcsignallingsystems.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/Roundabout-glenroy-station-LCRP-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/blog.dcsignallingsystems.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/Roundabout-glenroy-station-LCRP-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blog.dcsignallingsystems.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/Roundabout-glenroy-station-LCRP-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/blog.dcsignallingsystems.com.au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/Roundabout-glenroy-station-LCRP.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px\" \/><figcaption>Level Crossing removal Project Roundabout <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>On Friday, April 1st, motorists were allowed to use the new roundabout at the junction of Hartington Street and Nelson Street.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The intersection will be safer for buses and automobiles passing through the station precinct as a result of this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Important construction dates:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hartington Street roundabout opens on April 1st.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dowd Place shuts on April 3rd.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Glenroy Road is closed on April 26th, and the level crossing is being removed 24 hours a day, seven days a week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The new Glenroy Station will open at 9 p.m. on May 6. Only Hartington Street provides access.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Glenroy Road will reopen on May 14th. Boom gates have been permanently removed.
