The Victorian Government is eliminating the Glenroy Road level crossing and constructing a new Glenroy Station. The Glenroy Road level crossing is being dismantled by dropping the rail line beneath the road. The project will also include a brand-new Glenroy Station and station precinct, as well as better local connections, dedicated shared use and pedestrian walkways, and new landscaping, in addition to eliminating the level crossing. The Metro Tunnel will transform Melbourne’s train system, bring more trains to and from the suburbs and take cars off busy roads. The design will create capacity for more than a half a million additional passengers per week to travel during peak times across Melbourne’s train network.
